WHAT IS DOST?
DOST is a not for profit organization which has tax exempt status under 501(C)(3). The organization has been in existence since 1998 and has striven to help children, elderly and the needy in Crimea. As a charitable organization, we also help and donate to the American Red Cross, Unicef and to St. Judes Cancer research.

DOST was started in mind to help the people of Crimea who were oppressed under the former Communist regime to return to their ancestor homeland. Crimea has a rich history spanning over centuries until World War II. The Crimean history during World War II was almost vanquished as the Soviets and their ideology of Communism spread. The Crimean people were against the ideology of Communism and Stalin who as the head of the Communist party. Stalin ordered the KGB, which were agents of the Communist party to deport the Crimean people. Men, women and children were deported from their homeland to distant areas in former U.S.S.R, mainly Uzbekistan, in cattle cars with no food, medicine, or clothes. The majority of the people were the elderly and young children which died in the cattle cars en route to Uzbekistan and various other regions in the former U.S.S.R. Living in uncertainty, the Crimean people never forgot their homeland. Under former President Gorbachev government and his policy of Perestroika granted the Crimean people to return to their homeland almost 45 years after being forcibly deported by the Communist regime.

The Crimean people returning to their homeland has not been easy. The reason being is that majority of Crimean people returning to their homeland left their jobs, their homes .Without jobs, no homes, , lack of medicine and food, the people in Crimea have not given up hope to once again live with dignity in the land of their ancestors

That is why DOST was formed to challenge the hardships of the Crimean people and help in any way possible.

Our main goals of DOST:
1.   Sponsor a Child in Education
2.   Donations to Schools
3.   Support the Elderly
4.   Supporting Poor Families
5.   Helping the Sick Children and Adults

Lastly, every year we have an Annual Gala Fundraising Event. All proceeds go to our projects based on sponsor preferences. This is usually when new sponsors are enlisted as well as collect funds towards the various projects without any commitments. We hope that you will join us and show us your support so that we can continue our commitment to help people in need. Click her for more details about our Fundraiser.
